Special Note: I’m currently traveling for a few weeks! So I’ll be taking a break after this blog until my return. I’ll post all your contributions for #ForgivingFridays when I get back. 🙂
Happy #ForgivingFridays everyone! Yay!
This is a creative prompt for you to write a post on letting go and forgiving, or what happens when you do that. You can do your post ANY DAY this week!
It can be anything that inspires YOU to forgive and choose love – even if you’re struggling. e.g.: write a poem, share a quote or video, do an act of kindness, forgive yourself or someone else. 🙂 I look forward to see what you do!
**This is my contribution to Sue Vincent’s Thursday challenge and Frank’s Light and Dark. Frank, I only have a photo from my partner David related to this week’s topic, I hope that’s ok!**
First, I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and support for my move. I’m in my new home, and it’s beautiful! I moved on Tuesday. Here’s a photo of me in my new place – I plan to do my coaching from the blue chair on the left (I love it).
Also, guess what? The day after I moved, I left for a 3 week trip to Jerusalem and Italy. So I’m writing you from my Air B&B in Jerusalem right now. I plan to take the next few weeks off, yet I couldn’t take today off because….
It’s PEACE DAY!!!
Peace Day is sponsored by the U.N. as a way for each of us to tune into the peace inside. I love this day and do my best to share about it as much as I can…. including here in the land where there’s been such sacredness and such war.
To me, the place to start with peace is within each one of us. Where are you not at peace with yourself? (I think I need to answer this one today! 🙂 )
I’m aware of a part of me that still wants to judge myself. Especially with my relationship with David. I had a dream last night that I wasn’t listening to him, because I wanted him to be different than what he was. I yelled at him and was so impatient. Then, I tried to call him and he wasn’t there.
If I am doing this with him – getting impatient with how he acts – then I am doing it with ME! And the best way I know to make peace inside is by deep listening to myself, and taking the time to forgive myself for all my judgments.
So just now, I pause. I listen deeply to my heart. How am I wanting myself to be different than I am? I hear a few things, and the big one is that I wish I did my videos better and acted more patiently with David. Well, it’s time to forgive myself for judging, and in so doing, I choose peace.
I forgive myself for judging myself for not having patience with David sometimes. I forgive myself for judging him for not always acting like I want him to. I forgive myself for judging myself for turning away my loving when that happens.
And I forgive myself for judging the way I do my forgiveness videos, Wow, it’s funny because when I judge David, it’s usually about his approach to doing forgiveness work. OOPS!
I love this forgiveness process. I didn’t realize this connection until now!
The very thing I was judging David for is what I judge myself for. The way I express myself in my videos, workshops, etc. This is the healing that can happen when I listen deeply to my own heart!

Remember on this Peace Day and EVERY DAY, you always have an opportunity to listen to yourself, to love yourself, and to forgive….no matter what the circumstances.
Here’s a video I did this morning in celebration of peace day to help you do that. It’s a meditation on listening to your heart & a prayer for peace ❤
Happy #PeaceDay everyone! Happy #ForgivingFridays! I love you.
Love,
Debbie

I am SO SO grateful for all of you who contribute to Forgiving Fridays. I learn so much from you! Here are contributions from this week & some from last week too – they were magnificent:
Etta of Simply Etta D. shared really wonderful techniques on how to handle a challenging situation. I read the first one and thought “I love this one”, and then I read the next one and thought the same thing. So wise and helpful Etta!
DeB of Roaming Urban Gypsy contributed photos of her awesome painting celebrating fall with two dancers – plus a song by Nat King Cole helping us with the change!
Frank of Poetry, Short Prose and Walking gave us a poem on how love dissolves the walls we put up and opens a door into a kinder, freer way of being with ourselves. Thanks Frank!
Pragalbha of Infinite Living contributed an incredible demonstration on how we are all the same, and that each one of us has beautiful gifts to contribute to the world. Includes a gorgeous photo!
Karen of Blue Sky Days 365 shared an exquisite poem and reflection on how we’re often our worst critic and that it’s so important to forgive ourselves. So full of compassion!
Nikki of A Kinder Way gave us a post on how powerful we are, and she invites us to embrace and learn from the very things we judge about ourselves. What a kinder way to live!
Lacey of Big And Pinky Toes had a beautiful baby girl, Delta Chloe Hamilton. So full of love. Yay!! Congratulations and blessings.
Bella of ThoughtsnLifeBlog contributed beautiful inspirations and a prayer to celebrate the festival of forgiveness. So much compassion, caring and empathy!
❤
Here are the guidelines of #ForgivingFridays:
- Every day is Friday! Do a post today or anytime this week.
- Be creative – there’s LOTS of space for your expression! Write a poem, take a photo, post a quote, share your story … what opens your heart?
- Include #ForgivingFridays in your tags
- Create a pingback link to this post so I can find you.
- Have fun – you are awesome!
I love that you are spending Peace Day in Jerusalem. I will remember throughout today to pray for and find peace. Have a wonderful vacation!

I decided to go back in time to September 21st, 2015 and share my past visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. I find the BBG to be an extremely peaceful place where you can get close to God/Nature/Universe. I am grateful for and appreciate all the Blessings in my Life. Truly I am Blessed and Highly Favored of the Lord and so are you Debbie Roth! ❤ ❤

I love how you tease out the narrow spaces of judgment within and open them up to pour forgiveness and peace and acceptance within. You put words to all the time and process it takes to go through this journey of healing with our Self and our relationships. Gorgeous! Beautiful times to you dear friend!

What a timely post…in the middle of life unfolding…I took some time for peace at my local salon, there was stillness, green tea, and beautiful words to read…it was healing! Your new home looks absolutely lovely and after a few weeks away, you’ll be ready to come home and start anew!

Safe travels and I hope you find the peace you’re looking for. It’s can identify with being angry at others because they are not behaving in the matter in which we fell they should be behaving. What’s even more wonderful is that you did not dwell on the situation but rather forgave yourself and move on.
Congratulation on the move, I get nothing but love and peace from the photos you shared of your space. I know lots of great healing will come out of there.
Wishing you love and light on your journey of self-discovery. xxx
P.S, I’ve shared this post on Simplyetta’s facebook page with a wonderful caption 😉
“Debbie Roth has an awesome programme on Forgiveness, Self-Love, How to control your Finances and Moving on from Hurtful and Painful situations! I highly recommend her programme for anyone suffering through any of these situations!”
