Hi everyone,
Happy #ForgivingFridays! I just returned yesterday from a 3-week trip to Israel and Italy. I feel very grateful and also pretty jet-lagged – I woke up at 2:30am this morning!
If you are new to my blog, “Forgiving Fridays” is a creative prompt for you to forgive and to let go – and remember how GREAT you are. Contribute a post about your experience any day this week & I’ll share it in next Friday’s blog. If you’re not sure what to do, that’s completely ok! Share anything that opens you to love. (e.g., write a poem, share a photograph or a quote, or explore a situation that you’d like to forgive – just to name a few possibilities).
My contribution for today is a quote from Michelangelo’s work…. perfect for coming back from Florence. 🙂 Next week, I’ll include all of your contributions for #ForgivingFridays during the time I was away.
When I was in Italy, I saw so much of Michelangelo’s work. Each time, I looked at what he did and experienced the power of his presence. It was like he was there in the room, touching me with his brushstrokes. I awakened inside to my own beauty by opening to the magnificence of his painting, sculpture, and frescoes.
❤
My wish for each of you today is that whatever your expression is, you paint it for all the world to see …. with your whole heart …. and enjoy who you are in your fullness. And, if you judge something about yourself, keep going. This is a perfect time to see who you are beyond all of that, and to take a pause to forgive. It is such a powerful key to set yourself free.
I love you.
Love, Debbie
ps – did you know that Michelangelo only did one painting? It hangs in the Uffizi Gallery. I was so touched I took a photo.
**This is my contribution to Sue Vincent’s weekly photo prompt. Sue, your photo reminds me that the truth of who we are is often beyond the bare bones we see.**
Here are the guidelines of #ForgivingFridays:
- Every day is Friday! Do a post today or anytime this week.
- Free free to be creative – there’s LOTS of space for your expression! Whatever inspire forgiving inside you.
- Tag your post with #ForgivingFridays (here’s a great WordPress article about tagging posts)
- Create a pingback link to this post. This way, I can create a post showing all of the submissions over the week.
- Have fun creating your own form of forgiving, of loving YOU!!
Lovely quote, Debbie. Glad you had such a wonderful trip!

Kimberlee, it’s great to read your comment! So glad you felt the joy in my writing — it’s true, I really am joyful both for the visit and also for coming home. Michelangelo really touched me on my trip, he has such a way of expressing who he is in his greatness.
Hope you are doing incredibly! 🙂 Love and a big smile.

My world has gone sideways as I take an October pause to process the unexpected passing of my father on October 1st…time has taken on an otherworldly quality but I’m grateful to be riding on a wave of love…the beautiful messages and cards that arrive daily tell me that he won’t be forgotten, filling me with peace.

Hello Debbie, I can’t wait to go back to Florence. I have visited the Uffizi four times on two separate trips. I love art. The first time I was at this Uffizi this Tondo was installed above a doorway and was almost impossible to view. Thankfully, by the time of my second trip, it had been relocated to a much better location.
l like the idea of your Friday prompt. I will have to think of something good. Thank you and see you soon.

We are good, thanks. WE are still adjusting to everyone’s new schedules with me at work and the kids going to school and the baby. I think in a week or two we will all be on track. . . just in time for the holiday to get us off track lol.
