Today’s forgiving journal: Making friends with my mind :)

Today’s forgiving journal is about making friends with my mind.

I am stuck in my head today.  I have a decision to make, and so my mind wants to take over.

My spiritual teacher John-Roger has said that if he could ask for one thing, it would be for his mind to leave him alone.

What I am aware of right now is that: I have an opportunity to LOVE my mind, to truly just love it as it is.  I keep “thinking” how can I get above my mind …. and that keeps me in my mind.

I’ve tried many techniques, such as running, meditation, and breathing.  They work for a while, and then my mind furrows with a thought, and there you go – off running again!

So now I just want to add something super simple: love my mind exactly as it is – and what comes in is gratitude.

Time for forgiving:

1 – Self-forgiveness: I forgive myself for judging my mind as my enemy.  I forgive myself for judging myself as feeling scared of my mind.  I forgive myself for not loving me exactly as I am, that somehow I’ll forget to do.  (Do I need to do?)

2 – Letting go: I let go of this mush around my mind into a golden bowl of Light and see myself held and protected by my spiritual teachers and my own love.

3 – Gratitude: I am so grateful for my mind exactly as it is.  I really love that my mind can help me look for the good.  I am blessed to have such an active mind – thank you mind!

Do you ever ask yourself, “What would I do if I didn’t think I needed to do x?”  I am asking myself that right now, and what I hear is, “Be grateful.  Know that you are blessed.  Love will give you all the answers that you need.”

I love you.  Thank you.  It’s really helpful to write all this down.

  1. Awesome breakthrough. Love (accept) our mind exactly as it is. Fighting (non – acceptance) mind only keeps the focus on it, and keeps it going. And, what are we fighting the mind with? The mind! LOL!

  2. Oh how I relate to this one Debbie. My mind is something that I try to get above a lot. A LOT. I like your way of thinking…love your mind for what it is. Fighting it only gives it more power. Interesting Debbie…you’ve got me thinking here. 😉 ❤
