Today’s forgiving journal: Directing my thoughts to love

Today’s forgiving blog is on directing my thoughts to love.

I am aware how very often I think negative thoughts.

Is anyone with me on this one?

My spiritual teacher John-Roger says that emotion follows thought, and that when we have a thought and emotion that match, then we have a clear action. Well, if that’s true, I really want to think positively!

I’m game to test this out. One of my biggest, most recurring negative thoughts is that I’m letting God down, and I’m unlovable. I’m going to turn this around RIGHT NOW. God loves me, I am really amazing exactly as I am, and I am doing so great at learning how to forgive and be kind and caring (etc!).

Today is Day #2 of my 3-Day quote challenge, a blogger asked me to post quotes on love each day for 3 consecutive days. Here’s one of my quotes for today — an alternative version of the Serenity Prayer:

serenity prayer

I forgive myself for judging myself for all the times I beat myself up. I forgive myself for judging myself as unloveable especially by God and ok fine, by myself. And I forgive myself for judging myself for not doing things perfectly. I let all of this go to Spirit so that I may step free. And I am grateful to be me. Period.

Let’s see if in the days ahead, my emotions and actions are more full of love, compassion, and forgiveness (and I’ll take a whole lot of fun too). Cool.

I’ll end tonight with a quote by John-Roger, which is the very first quote I saw when I opened to Facebook looking for that Serenity Prayer quote.

create your own reality

Boy sometimes the biggest things in life are just so simple.

I love you!! Please feel free to share with me how you’d like to create your own reality…so happy you are here.

  1. Yes Debbie, God loves us and takes great pleasure at our sillyness! 😁💞 I beat myself up a lot too until I realized I am wired exactly the way it’s intended so I should just stop getting in my own way. It’s a process of course and some days are better than others 😇😊

  2. Found you through your comment on my blog. I really like your blog design – beautiful and peaceful and uplifting. My friend and I were just talking about this – having more positive thoughts instead of focusing on the negative. So important to count our daily blessings rather than focusing on what annoys or bothers us. I am following you now – thanks for the encouraging words.

  3. Debbie – Glad you passed by my blog today. I’m learning to be aware/of being conscious of what I say and think. It wasn’t easy at first but when a negative thought and/or word is being said its easier to catch it. Looking forward to reading more of your posts – following you.

  4. Debbie, you are on to it when you accept “God loves me.” Human love and God’s Love are two different things. Human love is usually defined based on egoic needs and is conditional. God’s love is all encompassing, unconditional and infinite. I don’t believe there is anyone not loved by God, even the ‘worst’ of us, in spite of what religions created by Man like to espouse. It is us that turns away from God, not the other way around.

A while back, when in great despair, I was given this message from the Other Side:
    You are loved.
We know you are doing the best you can.
We don’t want you to suffer.

  5. This is beautiful, thank you RGS. My spiritual teacher John-Roger has some wonderful precepts that I live by. One of them is that “God loves all of its creation”…. and also that we are all of God. Well, that’s good news isn’t it? Part of why I’m doing this blog is to help me be more aware of and experience unconditional loving – Self-forgiveness is such a key for me. Blessings, and thanks for responding! 🙂

  6. Dearest new friend Debbie, As you said “God loves me, I am really amazing exactly as I am, and I am doing so great at learning how to forgive and be kind and caring (etc!). ” What I have always been taught at Raja Yoga meditation taught by God is your father, your friend, your teacher, your guide of truth. God love and can only love, his job is not to judge. Karma, keeps track of the plus and the minus. God only loves, but I let go of his hand , I forget him, I go out to play like a child. I fall down, but I have forgotten who my parent is and who do I run to. With our physical parents we can fall down as child and run to them as hug. God is a spirit like I am spirit , but I have forgotten how to connect to him and have him heal me when I fall down. Through meditation we can heal. We are all good , we dont go out deliberately hurt people. Of course god love you. You are amazing and loving, and wonderful. Your writing is lovely and you share to the world your life. Affirmation and gratitude will really help you. I have written quite few blog post you might like. Daily Thought, Friday feeling, It is just and insult, Power of good wishes, Deep Silence – Meditation, dont go to bed with a heavy heart, Light and easy – bright and breezy, Nourish your mind and Let me be a beautiful soul. Actually most of my post – eek I didn’t realise. With let me be a beautiful soul.. Chang the works I always wear a smile, , I always share warmth and compassion , I am strong , I am gentle, I am beautiful you are loved.

okay long enough comment. Lots of love and hugs.. good friday and good weekend . Success & happiness are your birth rights and god can only love – he can’t not judge for he is the ocean of love and peace, benevolence. It is not god role to judge only love.
