Today’s forgiving journal: Seeing the beauty right in front of me

Today’s forgiving journal is about seeing the beauty right in front of me.

A beautiful blogger Dutchgoesthephoto does a weekly photo challenge.  This week’s focus is “colors”.  I figured this would be easy for me, because I’m a huge color fan!

When I went out to take photos today, I just didn’t feel inspired by the usual vibrant colors that I like.  I found a girl wearing a gorgeous shirt, and she also seemed sad.

The funny thing is, this girl was walking right beside a glorious building and lake – it reminds me that sometimes I walk right by the most subtle beauty and don’t see it.

1 – Self-forgiveness: I forgive myself for judging myself for feeling sad and depressed.  I forgive myself for judging when I don’t see beauty and any loss I’ve experienced because of this.

2 – Letting go: I let go of any and ALL self-blame, self-criticalness and self-non-acceptance (is this a word?! I think so!) into the most beautiful fountain of colored light — and give it over so that I may step free.

3 – Gratitude: I am grateful for learning to love another face of me.  I am grateful that love comes in many colors and for my openness to explore my preferences in the moment.  Good on me.

What’s present now is that with all the suffering currently going on in this planet, maybe

we all could just use a little bit of beauty and acceptance for how we see things.  I commit to being that place of peace within me – to see the beauty and accept myself and others as I am and as we are best I can.

I am aware that all I need to do is breathe and come into my heart.

I love you!

Love, Debbie

  2. Beautiful post Debbie! I agree, sometimes we dwell too much on our problems that we fail to see the beautiful stuffs happening in our lives…we often focus on our weakness that we fail go see our beauty…this is a very good reminder. ☺
