Happy #ForgivingFridays everyone! Yay!
This is a creative prompt for you to write a post on letting go and forgiving, or what happens when you do that. You can do your post ANY DAY this week!
It can be anything that inspires YOU to forgive and choose love – even if you’re struggling. e.g.: write a poem, share a quote or video, do an act of kindness, forgive yourself or someone else. 🙂 I look forward to see what you do!
**This is my contribution to Frank’s photo challenge, Backyard and Sue Vincent’s Thursday challenge. Frank, my inner guidance is my backyard. Thank you both!**
I got into an argument with David the other night, right before he left for the Swiss Alps. It was over something “small” yet it felt big. And when I woke up in the morning, I got clearly inside that this was not about being fair.
It was about being loving.
As I went on my morning run, I opened my heart to why he may have reacted the way he did – what his mindset could have been. And I deeply listened to my own reasons and perspective, and simply made it ok. When we said goodbye, it was full of love.
This brings up a HUGE point – that forgiveness is not about tipping the scales, it’s about me letting go of the “rules” that I have and opening my heart. When I do this, my inner wisdom guides me so directly into loving action!
I’m supposed to be out of my apartment in a week. I still don’t have a place to go, and I find myself crying a lot and doubting my inner guidance to give notice. Here’s another opportunity for me to let go of what I “think” should be happening.
I don’t know exactly why I gave notice, except that it was in my heart to do. I do know that I have learned SO much in this move – from being more loving in my partnership with David, to healing tremendous issues with my mom from when I was a little girl, and more.
Today, I once again do forgiveness. I forgive myself for judging myself for doubting my inner guidance. I forgive myself for judging myself for staying in the pain instead of the possibility.
I am so grateful for having a place to live today. I trust in my inner guidance, because that is my home.
Funny, I was looking to finding the “perfect” apartment to validate my inner knowing. That is so not necessary. Really, the key for me is that I trusted in what my heart told me to do, and I’ve learned so much in the process. I am so proud of myself.
I’m not sure what the end result will be. What I do know is that I am awesome, and I open to receive the many gifts that the Universe has for me. I trust myself and am grateful for today.
I love you.
Love, Debbie

I am SO SO grateful for all of you who contribute to Forgiving Fridays. I learn so much from you! Here are contributions from this week & some from last week too – they were magnificent:
Etta of Simply Etta D. gave us an incredible poem and sharing on the death of her great aunt (so sorry Etta) and on how we can turn tragedy into embracing the gift and blessings of life. Etta, you are such a presence of love in this world.
DeB of Roaming Urban Gypsy gave us a collage of photos from her trip to Coney Island that illustrates her experience of joy and freedom being by the water. Welcome back, DeB!
Frank of Poetry, Short Prose and Walking contributed a short prose on the incredible compassion of forgiveness to embrace our doubts and concerns. Plus a poem on the coming of Fall!
Revived Writer contributed a heartfelt poem on how she rose above her fears about this school semester – she was present with herself in honesty and love. Beautiful!
Ali of Flashlight Batteries gave us a mystical poem on the clarity that comes with healing and letting go of old memories – revealing a future filled with Light. I was so touched!
Pragalbha of Infinite Living contributed a poem and encouragement to slow down our mind, be in the spaces between thoughts, and open to what truly calls us. Includes a gorgeous graphic!
Karen of Blue Sky Days 365 wrote a powerful poem on how forgiveness can help us heal all wounds, let go of the past (no matter how far back), and open our hearts. Truly exquisite!
Miriam of Out an’ About wrote an awe-inspiring post with tips for living life to the fullest — including doing our best AND taking a pause to rest. Her photo of resting is adorable!
Nikki of A Kinder Way gave us an incredible post on how we can embrace who we are and to let our LIGHT SHINE. Includes such courage and authentic expression!
Here are the guidelines of #ForgivingFridays:
- Every day is Friday! Do a post today or anytime this week.
- Be creative – there’s LOTS of space for your expression! Write a poem, take a photo, post a quote, share your story … what opens your heart?
- Include #ForgivingFridays in your tags
- Create a pingback link to this post so I can find you.
- Have fun – you are awesome!
Some great content in the shared posts, I especially like Etta’s poem.
Sincerely hoping your move goes well and that you find the right place x

I hope all goes well with the move. Sometimes you have to take that leap of faith, no matter where you land. It is the leap that matters, not where you end up 🙂

Anne, this is great! When I was a little girl, I used to get different colored stars from my teacher, and I LOVED them. I’m giving myself a god / gold star right now. And I’m aware of J-R saying, Let go and Let God.
Off to Jack Espey’s memorial today. What a lovely opportunity to celebrate his joy. I’ll place you in the Light. Anne, I love you!

Lovely post. I liked the bit about letti g go of rules..or relaxing them a bit. I think rules are important, but sometimes we hold them to tight and we say should be like this.

The bit that stuck with me the most in reading this is about expecting a “perfect” apartment to somehow mean that you were making the correct choice in this case. Sometimes things don’t have to be perfect to be right I think. Have a beautiful week.

Amy, that’s the part that touched me too! I was surprised that I had this expectation running inside of me. ❤ Writing this down really helped me to open to the blessings in this move.
I found a beautiful home…. or it found me. Bless you, Amy. Thanks for your comments.
