Today’s Forgiving Fridays: Bringing Love to What You Judge :)

Happy #ForgivingFridays everyone! Yay! This is an opportunity for you to let go and forgive.  You can do your post ANY DAY this week! Anything that inspires YOU to forgive and choose love – even if you’re struggling.  e.g., write a poem, share a quote or video, do an act of kindness, forgive yourself or someone else. 🙂 I look forward to see what you do!

Today’s Forgiving Fridays is Bringing Love to What You’re Judging.

Firstly, I’d like to start by introducing you to my partner David today!  As I mentioned in a previous post, he’s an amazing photographer and writer.  David teaches me so much about unconditional love and acceptance.  I’m so excited to have him here.

Here’s a photo slideshow from David on our trip to Sedona — it’s incredible!:

And here’s my contribution for #ForgivingFridays:

Frank of Dutch Goes the Photo does a weekly photo challenge. This week’s topic is “heat”.

This is perfect for me!  It so happens that I’m in Sedona with my partner, David.  We found a hike yesterday that helped us stay cool even when it was hot (we hiked mid-day!).

There are such analogies with forgiveness!  I’ve also had numerous opportunities on our vacation to stay cool even when I got “hot” inside – when I got upset by something that David did.

The biggest opportunity that I had was right after the hike.  I got really demanding with something he said, and I had a lot of trouble stopping myself from getting upset. I didn’t feel nurtured, or heard. (That was an issue for me when I was kid.) I acted in a way that I’m not proud of, and I felt scared afterward that he would leave.

Really, the one who’s leaving is me when I don’t love myself through what I’m doing. The issue is not the behavior – it’s the fact that I judge myself for doing it. I have another choice. 💜

Bringing Love to What You're Judging Debbie 1The real key for me is for me to be still, to connect with my own loving, and to forgive myself for judging.  To be willing to shift my perspective.

I forgive myself for judging myself for not stopping myself with David today.

I forgive myself for judging myself for wishing I’d listened more, and talked less.

I forgive myself for judging myself for not feeling taken care of as a kid.

Today, right now, I choose to love myself no matter what. So no matter how “hot” I get,  I make it safe inside to learn and grow.  From this place, I can see more clearly how I can take really good, gentle care of myself.  And I can see how I’d like to be with David as I grow this relationship.

❤ ❤ ❤

I am SO SO grateful for all of you who contribute to Forgiving Fridays.  I learn so much from you!  Here are this week’s contributions:

Etta of Simply Etta D. gave us a courageous invitation to embrace change and support and believe in ourselves – we are our greatest asset!

DeB of Roaming Urban Gypsy contributed a collage of photos of her latest acrylic paintings, as well as the work of a wonderful black artist who inspires her. Two great artists with a vision of love!

Revived Writer contributed a poem on seeing people through the eyes of love, reminding us that gold is inside each one of us. Thank you – I love this!

Frank of Poetry, Short Prose and Walking wrote a short story on the love of a boy’s great aunt for her husband. It illustrates the power of love to heal all — even death. A heart-warming post!

Miriam of Out An’ About shared a beautiful post on embracing herself no matter how she’s feeling and allowing her dreams to come present.  Includes an original graphic on living in the moment!

Pragalbha of Infinite Living wrote a poem on how even in the darkest of times, we can keep going, step-by-step, and awaken to the miracle of new beginnings. A great example of forgiveness!

And in case you missed it…

Nikki of A Kinder Way shared a wonderful analogy of how we can move forward on our goals even when all our ducks aren’t in a row.  Plus an adorable photo to illustrate!

Anita of Healing Words gave us a post full of sunshine, affirmations and humor. What wonderful keys to forgive!

****

I’d like to end with a video that David and I did to invite people to forgive today live from Sedona – our first video on this blog!

I love you. 🙂

Love,

Debbie

    1. Oh Miriam, thank you! It’s the first time David and I have done a blog post together. I opened my heart and learned so much about how to be in the moment, to share about forgiveness with a partner, and simply to have fun (best I can). I am so glad you’re here, there’s a calming and Light-filled presence you have, Miriam.

Thanks also for your contribution this week. It was so additive on how we can be with ourselves through the dark times, and connect with that little girl who has such great dreams. 🙂 I love you! Have a wonderful weekend, Miriam. Hugs from L.A. Blessings of love and Light,
      Debbie

  2. David’s photos are wonderful. And I love the Morgan Freeman quote. I also loved your video, sort of together! Perfect timing to receive a reminder about forgiving today. Forgiving surely connects, starting with myself. Blessings and joy to you both.

    1. Oh Anne, I’m so glad this was perfect timing as a reminder to forgive. ❤ I love you.

It was really good to do this with David, and just to come present with what I was upset about. I realized after I wrote this blog that I had a "button" on not feeling nurtured, so much kid stuff – love my inner child. I added my awareness to the post during our morning glorious hike up a mountain! Forgiveness is so freeing and full of love.

Have a wonderful week ahead Anne. Blessings.
      Love and Light,
      Debbie

    1. Right? I know, Lacey. David is a professional photographer, and he makes things come alive for me! Actually, I’d like to work out how to enlarge his photos so someone can see them full screen (they are breathtaking).

I hope you are doing well, and nurturing yourself with a lot of love and kindness. Let me know how you are when you get a chance. 🙂 Blessings to you and your beautiful kids, Lacey!

    1. Oh Etta, I’m so glad you enjoyed this post and David’s presence! He’s truly unique and full of unconditional acceptance and loving. I think we are complementary in our approach and it’s really fun and uplifting to do this with him.

Isn’t he an amazing photographer? He’s a professional and is pretty well-known in the spiritual path I study. I’ll need to send you photos of a peace ranch that he took. (I’ll be emailing you soon, ok? Been away traveling for a bit, as you can see 🙂 ).

Love and Light to you, Etta! So glad for your presence here, you light up my blog.

    1. You are so welcome! 🙂 I’m glad you liked it. Isn’t David an amazing photographer? I’m blessed to know him.

I agree – I’m so glad I forgave myself for judging. Truly, this kind of Self-forgiveness is the essence of what I do to get free. When I forgive myself, it’s like the floodgates of love open inside of me.

I’m so glad you’re here! And thank you for your contribution this week, it enriched my post – and I know my readers love it.
      Blessings, Debbie

  4. Tears are in my eyes as I write these words. The Love I see and feel between you and David is a Love I only dream of. The slideshow was phenomenal and in itself I felt the “energy” of Sedona. What an inspiration the two of you are! I so needed to hear this “message” especially about changing perspectives and forgiving that which I am judging. OH that is powerful and freeing yet how many times I hang on to judgment rather then to forgive? This as with you comes straight out of my childhood so each and every time I choose to forgive I am weakening what was wrongly taught me. Bless you for the work you do and Bless you for stopping by my blog today. Debbie, I would love to do #IForgiveFridays. I’m not sure how to do a pingback. I know … really? Sending Light and Love to both you and David. Namaste! ☺️💝

    1. Hi Amy, I’m so glad you got a lot out of this post! ❤ It's so important to forgive ourselves for our judgments. Rumi has a great quote, "Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." How beautiful would it be to reside in this field? (Most importantly, with yourself)

Pingbacks are super easy. All there are is a link to a blog that a reader can click on to visit.
To create one, you can: 1. highlight words in your post; 2. click on the icon with a link graphic; and 3) add in the link for the reader to click on!

Here's the link to my blog post if helpful: https://forgivingconnects.com/2018/07/06/todays-forgiving-fridays-bringing-love-to-what-you-judge

You can also include #forgivingfridays in your tags.

Looking forward to seeing what you do! Feel free to be in touch, Amy Rose. You are wonderful, and I'm grateful for your presence,
