Today’s Forgiving Fridays: Ask Debbie & A Mini Vacation!

Happy #ForgivingFridays everyone! Yay! This is an opportunity for you to let go and forgive & post about it ANY DAY this week! See guidelines below. ❤ You can post whatever inspires YOU to forgive and choose love – even if you’re struggling.  e.g., you can do something to be present here & now like I did, or share a story, a poem, or a quote or two, or even sing a song to help you forgive today.

Today’s Forgiving Fridays is Ask Debbie and A Mini Vacation!

I had an inspiration about my blog!…  In addition to sharing my own experiences with forgiveness, how about opening it up to questions from YOU?  Do you remember Dear Abby?  How about “Ask Debbie”?

I’m opening the floor for questions!!!  Ask Debbie is ready to go.

You can ask about a situation you’re having trouble forgiving….

Or a question to find out more how to do forgiveness…..

Or an inquiry on how to see through the eyes of love….ESPECIALLY yourself!

To submit a question, simply email me at weloveyou@forgivingconnects.com, or comment below.

Also, I’m taking a mini vacation.  Yay!!!  Going to Santa Barbara for a great spiritual event and to relax.

I woke up this morning and wrote this in my journal:

“The beginning and the end are only the starting point.  Love is the thing that ties them together.”

This week, I got caught up in the past, and went over things again and again in my head – and I was often so hard on myself.  Or I started looking ahead to the future and the things I wanted to do – and got stressed.

Do you relate to this?

Both of these things take me out of the moment.  I forgive myself for judging myself for getting stressed, and for acting less than kind with myself! ❤ I really love myself.

Now is the only time we have. This is a truly radical way to live — and I’m in.  In a much fuller way.

So here I am.  Doing my blog.  Caring for myself and you.

And I’m taking a vacation!

This morning, I was driving to the Coop to get groceries for my weekend away, and I looked at the people I was passing by.  Really looking.  And I felt so much love.

Wow.  What would it be like to do this all the time, to FULLY ….

Be present with myself and really noticing what’s going on inside?

Say “I love myself” and pausing to breathe it in?

See the person right in front of me and recognizing their beauty?

Forgive and forget each judgment as they come up?

Bless each step that I walk with gratitude and joy?

I am doing this already with forgiveness as a key support….and I’m so open to doing it more!

Speaking of gratitude, I am so immensely grateful to do this blog.  I truly love each and every one of you.

When I do my forgiving videos, I often end with my name and a simple phrase, I forgive. What a great way to wrap up this post!! I’m going to say it now (and write it at the same time!) – and I invite you to join me:

My name is Debbie Roth, and I forgive.

I am SO SO grateful for all of you who contribute to Forgiving Fridays.  I learn so much from you!  Here are this week’s contributions:

Etta of Simply Etta D. shared a powerful and beautiful post about a situation she hasn’t yet forgiven, and how she owns fully that “Forgiveness starts and ends with me”. So true, Etta!!

DeBorah of Roaming Urban Gypsy shared a number of posts this week, such as a wonderful photo collage of the creativity and warmth of downtown Brooklyn in the middle of winter, and a second one with highlights of her mixed media ….plus a song to remind us how blessed we are. Go, DeB!

Miriam of Out An’ About did a super courageous and authentic video on sharing her story – and she invites us to share our collective story at her blog.  Her post is so full of love!

Pragalbha of Infinite Living wrote a poem that gives us a beautiful dance of accepting and honoring the true beauty of our own face. It’s a place where forgiveness resides!

Frank of Poetry, Short Prose and Walking  contributed a poem called “Confirming Forgiveness”. It was about the death of a loved one, and I felt confirmation and reassurance of forgiveness and peace when I read it. So soothing!

Revived Writer also contributed a poem on a wonderful Super Hero – our heart.  What better super hero that keeps us alive and has the courage to forgive and open after times of hurt. So creative!

Bernice of SpiritualJourney17 wrote a gorgeous prayer for our day. It’s full of kindness, caring, patience, and gratitude.  Bernice, thank you for blessing each of us!

Shelby of Searching 4 Satiety gave us a beautiful blog on the value of forgiving, and how choosing to forgive can help us to move forward and see the gifts of this world.  A first-time contributor – welcome Shelby!

And in case you missed it from last week: 🙂

Andrea of Thriving Under Pressure has great news – her Tedx talk is out! In it, she gives great tips on how to thrive, such as letting go v. holding on and BREATHING. Way to go!

And another post from Infinite Living!  Pragalbha’s son Sanved Doshi (age 12) and nephew Ishan Shah (age 14) teamed up to give us a magnificent poem and painting to celebrate forgiveness.  WOW are they talented – thank you!!

And something I found inspiring:

Here is a video from NBC of volunteers who cuddle pre-mature babies in the hospital – imagine if we all did that for each other! 🙂

****

I’d like to end with a beautiful Kabir quote to remind us that healing can happen in an instant, and a photo to give a taste of the view I’ll have on my vacation!

Have a great weekend! I love you.

Love,  Debbie

***This post is my contribution for The Daily Post’s I’d Rather Be… and Frank’s Challenge, Time. Frank, I am learning ever more, day by day, that now is the only time I have – and each moment is such a gift of love. And I’m taking a vacation! Thank you!!***

    1. Hi Anita,
It’s so great that you’d like to post something!
I agree with Revived Writer – I’d love to read it. 🙂

Yep you can link to my post inside your post. All you need to do is highlight the words where you’d like to create a link (for example see how I created a link with the name of each contributor’s blog above? So you could say “This post is a contribution for Forgiving Fridays in your post & highlight “Forgiving Fridays”).

Once you do that, click on the icon at the top of the page that looks like a link of a chain. Enter the link to my most recent post. Voila!

Here’s the link to the post if helpful: https://forgivingconnects.com/2018/03/16/todays-forgiving-fridays-ask-debbie-a-mini-vacation

Also it would be great if you can include #ForgivingFridays in your tags.

Thanks and blessings to the both of you for commenting. Really lovely to hear from you before my vacation.
      ~Debbie

  1. Thank you for always including me as part of Forgiving Fridays. At this point I’m at a Crossroads concerning the concept of Forgiveness. Mentally I understand but emotionally I’m still not ready. However during my week off from work this past week I had a lot of time to work on my artwork. I watched lots of painting videos on YouTube.

Not that I’ve become an expert but it was a fun way to spend the week indoors since it’s been snowing, sleeting and raining here in New York. I had projects to set my mind to and maybe through art perhaps just maybe my spirit and soul can heal. I also took part in the Union Art show which is currently being held uptown in El Barrio PS 109 Artspace. This art show is composed of approximately 90 works by the Museum Union Workers.

Yesterday on Thursday I made a Cat Photo Collage to honor my Feline friends including my furbaby Sylvester. Meow. https://dancingpalmtrees.com/2018/03/16/happy-feline-friday-and-caturday-saturday/

    1. Hi DeB, thank you so much for sharing! I hear you on forgiving in part, and still having blocks to opening up to it. ❤ Hang in there, and I love what you shared about art helping you to heal. There is such wisdom in that.

I'm honored to share your contribution this week for #ForgivingFridays. Sylvester is a gorgeous cat with positive energy. The forgiving feline. 🙂 Much love to you, DeB. Have a great week. Blessings, Debbie

  2. Oh Yes. Enjoy your mini-vacation. Spiritual Retreats are wonderful. It’s great to get away to just be. To be One with God and the Universe. I really Look forward to retiring next year so I can plan my life around my goals, dreams, passions and desires instead of the workplace. Have fun! ❤ ❤ Meow from Sylvester!

Seems we’re on a similar path lately with our thoughts very much aligned. Thank you for sharing my post here and as always for sharing your heart and showing us how brave you are.
