Happy #ForgivingFridays everyone! Yay! This is an opportunity for you to share about forgiveness & post about it ANY DAY this week! See guidelines below. ❤ You can post whatever inspires YOU to forgive and choose love. Maybe it’s a photo or inspiring quote, or a poem, or you can share about something you’re struggling with and what you did about it like I did.
***This post is my contribution for The Daily Post’s Temporary and Frank’s Challenge, Kitchen. Frank I’m sitting in the kitchen doing this blog, surrounded by my reminders to forgive.***
Today’s Forgiving Fridays is accepting myself as worthy.
This morning, I am aware of a part inside of me that doesn’t feel worthy. It’s funny, I’ve done so much work on myself, and yet this part still remains. I can forgive myself, I can forgive others, and yet here it is.
What I came to this morning is that what I resist, persists. And that all I need to do right now is to love this part of me as it is. Nothing to do, no where to go. (I used to try to run out the door and “do something” when this feeling of unworthiness came up – and this time, I just stayed where I was, and I breathed.)
One of the bloggers who contributed today mentioned how forgiveness is like an affirmation. I really love that! For me personally, each time I forgive, I am affirming myself that I am worthy of being forgiven. Period. It’s a little kiss inside that I give to myself to say, I choose to accept and love myself.
I have affirmations around my whole place, especially in my kitchen. Restricting food has been a thing I’ve used to punish myself in the past. No wonder I have positive messages everywhere! For example, I have a photo of when I was a child, to remind me to take care of myself. I also have an acceptance magnet & trinket from Japan with a spiritual blessing of health – right at my refrigerator!
Sometimes these messages feel temporary to me, like I’m waiting for the truth of my unworthiness to rear its ugly head. And more and more often, these messages are the truth as I know it.
This is such a big part of why I write this blog. Because for me, practicing forgiveness every day is helping me to see that I AM worthy of love, and even more than that, I am a loving being.
Today, right now, I’d like to do forgiveness. I forgive myself for forgetting that I am worthy of love. I forgive myself for judging myself for resisting unworthiness. I let all of this go, and I ask Spirit for help to see the goodness and know love. (If you don’t relate to Spirit, you could ask help from your heart, nature, peace, or simply the essence of love.)
I did a video a while back on how to forgive when you feel vulnerable, I just rewatched it…. I’m including it at the end in case it speaks to you! 🙂

I am grateful for all of you who contribute to Forgiving Fridays. I learn so much from you! Here are this week’s contributions:
Etta of Simply Etta D. gave us wonderful tips for gaining altitude and getting inspired to keep moving in the direction of our hearts based on her personal experience. Thank you Etta!
Stella of Giggles & Tales shared about her neighbor’s random act of kindness to the community – a shining example of how simple acts of kindness touches and opens someone else’s life.
DeBorah of Roaming Urban Gypsy shared a beautiful photo collage of fall foliage in NY that can open our hearts to the presence of nature. A great help for coming to peace inside!
Xenia of Whippet Wisdom gave us a quadrille – plus a great photo of one of her dogs! – on how we are connected in love and caring when something unexpected happens. I learned a lot.
Frank of Poetry, Short Prose and Walking contributed an ode to forgiveness and a wonderful photo that illustrates the freedom and great expansion of forgiveness. Beautiful.
Pragalbha of Infinite Living did a blog on the breath and how it nourishes us and helps us to connect with ourselves and expand into life. Thank you!
And a few blog posts I found inspiring 🙂 :
Cee of Cee’s Photography documented her powerful journey with Lyme’s disease and how the conditions of life are temporary. Reminded me of how forgiveness and loving are always with us!
Sommer of The Green Glasses wrote a poignant post of her ups and downs with her in vitro fertilization experience – her hopes, her let downs, her courage, and her sadness. What a self-honoring sharing. ❤
****
I’d like to end today with an affirmation:
I am accepting myself exactly as I am and having a direct experience of loving it all.
And a quote for your day:
“There is so much there for you once you open yourself to it and place yourself on this path of unfoldment. It’s magnificent. And it is all a manifestation of love.” –John-Roger
I love you.
Have an amazing week!
Love, Debbie

Oh Xenia, thank you! I was in a class this past weekend called “Consciousness, Health, and Healing”. It was profound. 🙂
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are having a great week. By the way, I had a feeling you’d like the colours of my affirmations. I find colour so healing, energizing and relaxing at the same time.
Please give my love to Elvor and Pearl. And thanks for your amazing contribution. You are so talented.

Oh Xenia, thank you! So perfect, I’m aware of trust & how important it is for me to trust myself and my word to myself, and also to trust the love of Spirit (if that’s not too woo-woo for you!). I’ll have a look now. Very happy to share this for #ForgivingFridays tomorrow. Love and peace and big pats for Elvor and Pearl! And love and Light to you Xenia. ~Debbie

You are so right about running something to do when resistance surfaces. Nothing to do no where to go, as you say, is the way and yet can test me for just Being so many times. I keep receiving so much space for myself each time I read your posts. It is like you and I are on the same page – you help me rest there better than I can do on my own 🙂

Printed on a small tile, the words, “Life is Beautifull” greet me each day – they were the words that carried me through a most interesting year and I’ve kept them near as you have in your beautiful kitchen! When uncomfortable feelings rise up within me, I tend to get lost in housecleaning (at least something gets done while I’m in avoidance mode!) but lately, I’m practicing just sitting with those very same feelings and I’m slowly making my way…thank you for sharing, it warms my heart to know that I’m not alone!

Another wonderful post, Debbie! Accepting ourselves as we are, and removing those little nags of doubt that we’re not good enough yet is not easy. Continual reminders are needed along with the smile that crosses our faces, when we catch ourselves!
Be well!

Aww Frank, you are fantastic – and quite intuitive. I’ve been present to the importance of smiling lately! In fact, I just got a cup for my tea that says “Cup of sunshine”. 🙂 🙂 Thank you again for your photo challenge, as you know it inspires me deeply.
I’ll be over to your blog shortly to have a look at the other contributions – so love them. Blessings to you and your wife — Debbie

Another beautiful post my friend.
I linked a post to contribute, but maybe I did it wrong? Did you get a ping back from me?

Oh Lacey, no I didn’t!! Sorry about that.
You know what probably happened? It’s possibly you linked to my post on your Reader. Apparently, that doesn’t work for pingbacks (who knew 🙂 )?
Why don’t you re link your post to this one, and then I’ll share it this coming week! Here’s the pingback link if helpful: https://forgivingconnects.com/2017/11/10/todays-forgiving-fridays-accepting-myself-as-worthy
So lovely to have your presence here, Lacey. You brighten my day!

I love the ideas of little notes, in my old office, I used to have a card older with notes in it and each day I read a different one out loud to myself. Debbie your insights are always an inspiration and the correct dose of motivation. xxx Love and Light to you!

Oh Etta D, I love that! What a simple and neat way to care for yourself with little notes. 🙂 🙂
I have angel cards in my office, and divinity cards at home. The card I picked today (can you believe it?) is “Forgiveness”!!
Much love and Light to you, Etta. So glad you are here & for your Forgiving Fridays posts.
Have a great week. Blessings, Debbie

I can believe that since you’re all about “Forgiving” can’t imagine you choosing any other card 🙂
I taught my daughters how to read by labelling everything in the house and leaving them little notes in their room. They were reading literally from the time they could speak. Back then didn’t think it as a huge deal. But in grade 3 my oldest was reading at a grade 8 level, teachers and principal were amazed at her level of not only reading but comprehension of what she was reading. I think it opened their minds at an early age.
Much Blessings to you too Debbie xxxx

You’re so right Debbie – what we resist does persist and so often we spend our time focussing on what we don’t want rather than creating a vision of what we do want. I love the daily affirmation reminders and they’re all around my house too! Have a wonderful weekend. Much love and angel blessings sent across the pond.. x

Thanks Debbie – yes it’s a family joke! My lads tease me relentlessly about it! I work on the philosophy that even if they don’t realise it, they’re still taking in those little messages! Hugs returned with love! xx

Reading your words gives me peace of mind. It’s important to know actually what we want, only then we can focus in the right way and on the right thing.

Hi Debbie! Your blog is very inspirational. In honor of Forgiveness Fridays I have posted some thoughts on my blog about the Choice we have when facing hardship- should we let it define us? Destroy us? Develop us? Here is the post should you be interested: https://searching4satiety.com/2018/03/14/develop/
