Today’s forgiving journal: Coming out as a poet

Today’s forgiving journal is about coming out as a poet.

As you may know, I’m starting to write a book.  Right now, best I know is that it will include selected forgiving blogs I’ve written, plus poetry and quotes.

I’ve started to write poetry to get me going.  A dear friend once wrote, if you want to write a book, you need to sit down and start typing.

As per usual, here’s some forgiveness:

1 – Self-forgiveness: I forgive myself for judging that I don’t have what it takes to write.  I forgive myself for judging myself as a procrastinator. (and thinking I’m not 🙂 )

2 – Letting Go: I release patterns of judgment around poetry into the Light so that I may write freely!  And I ask for my writing angels to work with me to write from my heart’s joy.

3 – Gratitude: I am so grateful to myself for stepping into a deeper calling for me.  I am grateful for all the poetry that I read and how it inspires me. I love joy and writing together!

****

Poem below.  It’s a blessing to share it with you.

I love you.

Love, Debbie

The Void

Sometimes …

When I don’t know what’s next

When I feel a little alone

There in lies

The void.  It hurts. (want to hide)

Feels bad.  (still do)

Stops me in my tracks, though

I blindly keep going

Until, one day, I just

burst

out

crying.

Then, I get,

I need my love.

There in lies

The truth. (thank you, joy)

    1. That’s awesome, Emily! I completely support you in that … and with whatever form “substantial” takes for you! What a neat commitment and blessing to yourself.
Have a wonderful weekend too. Thanks for being here. ❤

  1. I love this, Debbie! Coming out as a poet is wonderful! I still don’t think of myself as a poet or writer (or a blogger) but I think I need to get comfortable with it.
