Today’s forgiving journal: redefining old ways

Today’s forgiving journal is about redefining old ways.

I participate in a photo challenge by a wonderful fellow blogger Dutch Goes the Photo.  This week’s focus is fences.

I immediately thought, “I am so tired of being on the fence.” I’ve spent so much of my life believing that I am going to make a wrong choice.  If I dig a little deeper, I also am afraid to make a choice because that means that I need to fully LIVE in it.

Sitting here right now, I don’t even know why that is so scary.  I’m aware that when I look deeper at a false belief, I get to the illusion that’s running me.  Well, I am ready to let this go – with love.

1 – Self-forgiveness: I forgive myself for judging myself for staying stuck in old ways of doing things, of seeing me. I forgive myself for judging all the times I’ve sat on the fence.  I forgive myself for judging how very alone that has felt for me.

2 – Letting go: I look into my heart now and ask for help to let this old belief structure go.  I throw away what I thought was the key to being safe and I open to love and new beginnings.

3 – Gratitude: My biggest blessing is to choose love.  It is my key to living an abundant life, which to me is full of grace, joy, connection, and a whole lot of living.  I am grateful for the beauty of our planet and for the option to choose love in every moment.

redefining old ways two June 29 2016Let’s redefine that belief around fences.  I now see fences as a beautiful enclosure to a sanctuary inside of me, with stages of learning on top of it and a table for two.  Life is good and I’m open to share it, to live it, and  most of all – to love it all, starting with me.

I love you.

Love,

Debbie

  1. I am at the same crossroad, have been for awhile. the wanting to change but fear of change so you get stuck. I really like how taking pictures of fences motivated you to think about yourself. The self-forgiveness is so needed too, you want to change something, plan to, don’t get around to it and than beat yourself up over it. I am going to try those three things you wrote about and begin to step forward. Thank you 🙂

  2. Lovely photo Debbie and I love your words and definition of what a fence signifies to you … just beautiful. Wishing you a safe and peaceful enclosure always, one where you’re free to come and go as you please. Hugs xo
